Artifact Reflection:
This project was very difficult for me. I used a few new programs to create this presentation. In the end, I am proud of what I accomplished. I learned that a multimedia project can be a huge undertaking or a small project that helps students move on the road to discovery. I have found another tool to engage students in the content of my class. I also learned how difficult learning a new program can be which helps me understand my students a little more when they are completely in the dark about a new concept.

Rationale:
| ISTE-TF.1 - In this project I utilized many programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Audacity, and EZedia in order to create a multimedia presentation for my students. |
ISTE-TF.2.A - A multimedia presentation was created to help students make important connections between the time period the book took place and their own lives. This technology enhanced instruction gave them an insight into the book which would not have been easily done any other way. It also helped students see and hear the sixities instead of just reading about the decade. |
ISTE-TF.3 - This activity provided students with a clear view of the time period during which the book takes place. This allows for the students to be better able to understand and make their own personal connections to the story.
|
ISTE-TF.4 - This class allowed teachers to use media as a way to reach a variety of ability levels. A general multimedia project could be created and then modified to meet individuals various learning needs. This would help with assessment because it allows for students to use their individual strengths. |

Course Reflection:
1. What new learning occurred for you in this course?
- I had many new experiences in this course. I learned how to use the Adobe Photoshop program. I modified many of the graphics in my project using this program. I also learned how to use the eZediaMX multimedia program. It allowed me to create an incredible presentation for one of my favorite novels. Using this presentation, I hope to ignite the same love I have for this book in my students.
2. Indirectly, what did your students and/or other teachers learn from this course?
- Indirectly, my students will now have the opportunity to create multimedia projects of their own. I am much more comfortable with this type of program now, so I will introduce it to my classes. Also, teachers will receive the benefit of my experience and can try to create their own multimedia project with my assistance.
3. What did you learn that will help you address diverse student needs and promote equitable access to current technologies?
- Most technology allows for differentiated instruction. Multimedia presentations allow students to work at their own pace. The students can also go back to the presentation to look for answers or review their own work to create a presentation. It almost requires students to teach the information in order to create the presentation.
4. How would you design professional development for other teachers who are interested in expanding their knowledge and skills related to the goals of this course?
- I would do approximately a week long workshop that gave a preview of the multimedia program. Then I would allow the teachers to create a multimedia project to present to their class or a lesson that required the students to create a lesson using a multimedia program.
5. How has this course enabled you to take a leadership role in your school or district?
- This course allows me to take a leadership role in my school because very few teachers have technology experience. I am now able to present an in-service for my department or staff.
