This module is designed to provide WIT participants with a basic knowledge of using a browser and book marking as it specifically relates to Netscape.
Rationale
Novice computer users are often afraid to use the Internet because they don't possess a working knowledge of how to use a browser. This module will provide students with a step-by-step approach enabling them to become familiar with the basic features of the Netscape 7.0 browser.
Goals and Objectives
- To provide a step-by-step approach to using a web browser
- To provide opportunities for students to get better acquainted with browser term definitions
- To prevent students from becoming lost or overwhelmed with the many features of a browser
- To provide opportunities to practice using a browser
Audience
This module is designed for teachers who are new to using a web browser. Additionally teachers who have a basic knowledge might benefit using this module as a refresher course.
Prerequisites
- Basic computer skills
- Desire to learn how to correctly use the features of a web browser.
Subject Matter
The subject of this module is browsing using Netscape 7.0.
Materials
The materials necessary to successfully complete this module includes:
- A computer with Internet access
- A computer that has Netscape 7.0 installed
- Handouts
Instructional Plan
Participants will have the opportunity to read about, discuss and practice ways of:
- Using a web browser
- Completing related worksheets
- Testing acquired knowledge of a browser and its related parts
